9668138-55106 Job Description Make a meaningful impact supporting students in special education by providing your expertise as a School Social Worker. This contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 academic year and is based near Saint Paul, MN. Work with the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program (TESA) at a local technical college, helping students navigate challenges and reach their fullest potential. The schedule follows regular school days, running Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., giving you consistent hours and holidays in line with the school calendar.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker Previous experience working within school settings, particularly with students in special education or transitional programs Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff Compassionate and resourceful, dedicated to student support and advocacy

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect social work services to students with special needs Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies that address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns Participate actively in IEP meetings and support the implementation of individualized plans Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and connect students and families with appropriate community resources Foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all school and district policies This role offers the unique chance to support transition-aged students, making a tangible difference in their academic and personal journeys.
