A respected educational program near Saint Paul, MN is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker, Special Education to partner with the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program (TESA) at a dynamic technical college setting in Rosemount. This opportunity is a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year, with schedule hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. In this impactful role, you will: Utilize your expertise as a social worker within a school environment, providing direct support to students in special education programs. Collaborate closely with educators, families, and community resources to address students academic, social, and emotional needs. Conduct individual and group counseling for students navigating transitions and overcoming barriers to learning. Develop and implement intervention strategies, helping students improve their functioning in educational settings. Support case management, including progress documentation and assisting with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed. Engage in crisis intervention as appropriate, promoting a safe and supportive school climate. Foster positive relationships and build trust with students and their support networks to encourage lasting success. To thrive, youll bring: A valid School Social Worker license in Minnesota or eligibility to obtain one. Previous experience within schools, especially in special education or with transition-age youth. Knowledge of intervention strategies, case management, and the IEP process. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach.
