$ 15.00 per hour This position is eligible for essential benefits
PIE facilitators work during the school year, Monday - Thursday. Facilitators work 6 hours per day and 34 weeks during the school term.
Position Schedule:
We are in need of a part-time PIE facilitator to support our elementary and middle schools. PIE facilitators work to bring in community members to our classrooms to enhance, support and reinforce Rockwood curriculum. The successful individual will work both independantly and on a team of facilitators. Experience in the Rockwood community is a key component, networking skills are a must. POSITION SUMMARY
To act as a liaison between the school community for the purpose of enhancing curriculum and increasing career awareness for students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist school faculties in researching, coordinating and scheduling curriculum enrichment programs:
Communicate with teachers, frequently informing them of up-dated and new community resource programs.
Interact with community organizations to establish and maintain partnership activities.
Coordinate and complete all details of PIE event.
Organize and enter all resource contact information into PIE database.
Keep students, teachers and administrators informed of PIE events.
Assist Career Shadowing and Project Interface facilitators with student information and event planning.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to research, organize and distribute community resource information.
Ability to interact with community volunteers, principals, teachers, students, parents and PIE staff.
Must be able to travel throughout the school district and St. Louis area.
Ability to work flexible hours.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with the community, business, and/or education environment, either as a paid employee or volunteer.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent a minimum requirement. Additional post-secondary education is preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends and meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
