In this role, you will provide supportive services to families facing challenges, promote child safety, and foster healthy family dynamics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in social services while making a lasting impact. This is a 1099 independent contractor position; $24 per approved billable hour Responsibilities Supervised parent-child visitation, in accordance with referrals, case requirements, safety plans, and DFS policies Help parents practice age-appropriate parenting skills including supervision, establishing routines for play, feeding, and other caregiving responsibilities Help families with parenting techniques and childcare resources as needed Document client interactions accurately using Microsoft Office Teams, maintaining detailed case notes and reports. Encourage parents to appropriately respond to their children's emotional and physical needs Support age-appropriate activities that encourage positive parent-child interaction Contractor makes and maintains their own schedule based on referrals that are accepted. Caseload is 30-40 billable hours per week. These services are scheduled around the availability of the parent and children. Appointments may be necessary for afternoons, evenings and weekends. Travel within the Jackson County area is required and mileage is reimbursed at the Federal standard rate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Child & Family Development, or a related field OR A high school diploma or equivalency , 3 years experience working with families or children + Five (5) hours of annual on-going, competency-based training in the following areas:

◦ Child abuse/neglect indicators and mandated reporting requirements.

◦ Child management.

◦ Child development.

◦ Cultural sensitivity.

◦ Community resources.

◦ Emergency responses including fire, tornado, CPR, and standard first aid; and,

◦ Communicable disease recognition.

◦ Training certificate in child development and recognition or treatment of child abuse and neglect Must have knowledge of child development, parenting education and community resources Must be able to multi-task and be detailed and organized. Must have a valid Class E driver's license, clean & reliable transportation, and full-coverage insurance, as we transport children to visits with their parents. Must be able to pass a Family Safety Registry background check Ability to interact with troubled families respectfully, and without judgment in a supportive, professional manner. Ability to remain calm and professional during difficult situations while providing respectful parenting coaching and redirection Dependable and able to work independently and manage scheduling responsibilities Ability to complete initial and ongoing training, maintain confidentiality and comply with mandated reporting requirements Basic computer and technology skills necessary for electronic documentation

Pay:

$24.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
