School Cafeteria Worker - Jackson Area Schools Job Summary We are looking for dependable Cafeteria Workers to help prepare and serve meals to students while keeping the cafeteria clean, safe, and welcoming. This position plays an important role in providing quality meals and excellent service to students and school staff. Important Requirements Must be willing to work at any school location within the district as needed. Must pass a criminal background check. Must pass fingerprinting before employment. Must be reliable, professional, and able to work well with others. Responsibilities Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to students. Assist with basic food preparation and meal setup. Keep the kitchen, serving lines, dining areas, and storage areas clean and organized. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely. Provide friendly customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Help with special school events and meal programs when needed. Assist with cleaning and closing duties at the end of each shift. Qualifications Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or hospitality experience is helpful but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
