Join our Early Head Start team as a Family Engagement Specialist and make a meaningful difference by connecting families with essential resources, supporting their goals, and building strong partnerships throughout the community. In this rewarding role, you will serve as a trusted advocate for families while helping create a welcoming, supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed. What You'll Do Recruit and support families throughout the application, selection, enrollment, and classroom-assignment process. Help maintain the program's waiting list and work to fill vacancies within 30 days. Conduct home visits and complete Family Needs Assessments. Partner with families to develop Family Partnership Agreements and individualized Family Goals Plans. Help families identify needed resources and services, make referrals, and follow up to support successful outcomes. Visit assigned classrooms and centers weekly to collaborate with teaching staff, communicate with parents, and monitor children's progress. Maintain complete, accurate, and current files for each assigned family in accordance with Early Head Start policies and procedures. Submit timely child and family updates for entry into ChildPlus and communicate relevant information to program managers and coordinators Plan and coordinate parent meetings, workshops, surveys, newsletters, and other family-engagement activities. Submit monthly documentation of volunteer hours, donations, parent meetings, and Family Services activities to the Family Services Manager. What You Will Bring A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field. At least one year of case-management experience working with children and families with low incomes; two or more years of experience is preferred. A Head Start Family Engagement Certificate or equivalent credential, such as a Family Development Credential or NHSA Family Services Certification. Candidates who do not currently hold a qualifying credential must obtain one within 18 months of hire. The ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, community partners, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
