What they do

A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Summary:
In coordination and conjunction with the ACT team members, provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling, therapy, crisis intervention services in a clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making as well as coordinated interdisciplinary team work. Most aspects of this job require clinical assessment, evaluation, and intervention skills to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses that are treated with individual and/or family interventions in a community based setting. Case management/supportive services are also a core function of this job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provides individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team Participates in peer review process for therapists All other duties as assigned by supervisor Education and/or
Experience:
An associate's or bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling or other field and at least two years of experience with the population served.
