We support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through advocacy, shelter, education, and community outreach. We provide a safe environment where victims can heal and connect them to the resources they need to rebuild their lives with strength. As our Crisis Advocate, you'll walk alongside survivors in the Nashville/Edgecombe area during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. From answering a crisis call to standing beside someone in court, you'll provide support, guidance, and connection to the resources they need to move forward safely. This position reports to the Director of Programs. Duties Provide crisis intervention and help survivors create personalized safety plans Guide survivors through completing protective orders and other court forms Staff the 24-hour crisis line on a scheduled rotation Accompany survivors to civil and criminal court hearings Coordinate shelter admissions, services, and referrals with fellow staff Build strong partnerships with domestic violence programs and community agencies Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics Support additional program needs that advance our mission Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in advocacy, social services, or crisis response will be considered Excellent written and verbal communication skills A compassionate, trauma-informed approach and the ability to stay calm in crisis situations Discretion and sound judgment with highly sensitive information Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation
