Kinship Navigator Help families find their way. Strengthen connections. Make a difference. Are you someone who loves connecting people with resources, building relationships, and helping families navigate challenges? The Family Resource Center is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and resourceful Kinship Navigator to join our team! Kinship caregivers step up in incredible ways; grandparents raising grandchildren, relatives caring for nieces or nephews, and other trusted adults providing children with safe and stable homes. But stepping into that role can come with a lot of questions: Where do I start? What benefits are available? Who can help? What resources does my family qualify for? That's where you come in. As a Kinship Navigator, you'll work alongside caregivers to help make those questions feel a little less overwhelming. You'll meet families where they're at, listen to what they need, help them understand available supports, and connect them with resources that can make a real difference. What You'll Do In this role, you will: Build trusting, supportive relationships with kinship caregivers and their families. Meet with caregivers in person and virtually, to identify their individual needs, strengths, and goals. Help families navigate state benefits, community resources, social services, childcare supports, and other available programs. Provide outreach, information, referrals, and ongoing support. Connect caregivers with other kinship families and help develop opportunities for peer support. Collaborate with DCYF, community partners, service providers, and other professionals to help families access the right support at the right time. Advocate for families while helping caregivers learn how to navigate systems and advocate for themselves. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of the services you provide. Recognize when a family may benefit from a higher level of support and help connect them with additional FRC services. Be part of community events, outreach activities, and other opportunities to connect families with the Family Resource Center. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are someone who: Genuinely enjoys working with families and building relationships. Can listen without judgment and recognize that every family's situation is different. Is comfortable helping people navigate complicated systems and isn't afraid to make a phone call, ask questions, or dig for a resource. Is organized and able to balance family meetings, follow-up, referrals, and documentation. Communicates well with families, coworkers, and community partners. Can work independently while still being an active member of a team. Is comfortable meeting families in their homes, in the community, at FRC locations, and virtually. Understands the importance of confidentiality, professional boundaries, and meeting families where they are. Brings compassion, flexibility, creativity, and a sense of humor to their work. Education & Experience To qualify for this position, applicants must have: High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience providing services to families in a social service, home health, early childhood, or related program setting, along with demonstrated lived and professional experience relevant to the role.
