The School Social Worker will collaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies to promote academic achievement, emotional well-being, and social development. This position plays an essential role on the Child Study Team and supports students with disabilities through counseling, case management, evaluations, and educational planning. 14 Provide professional case management including monitoring and evaluating educational programs for assigned students Prepare and update social/developmental histories for initial referrals, evaluations, and reevaluations Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education services Provide counseling services and intervention support for students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or interpersonal challenges Consult with teachers, school personnel, and parents regarding student learning and social emotional concerns Coordinate transition planning including vocational, work, college, and school-to-school transitions for students age 14 and older Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures Utilize data from multiple sources to support data-driven educational decisions and ensure compliance with Least Restrictive Environment mandates Attend conferences, meetings, and educational planning sessions to support student success Identify and report child abuse and neglect situations in accordance with mandated reporting requirements Maintain liaison with agencies and professionals involved in supporting students and families Participate in crisis prevention and intervention efforts Maintain professional competence through district-provided and self-selected professional development activities Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services and Supervisors of Special Education Requirements Education Master's Degree in Social Work or related field required Licenses & Certifications New Jersey School Social Worker endorsement required Must have NJDOE certification Successful Criminal History Clearance required Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization required Compliance with the
