Step into a full-time, contract position working as part of the B.E.S.T. program, supporting young people who have experienced emotional challenges, trauma, or economic hardship. You will provide counseling services and behavioral support, partnering with another dedicated staff member to serve a caseload of 1520 students, plus handling referrals as needed. This role ensures each student receives the personalized care and interventions essential to thrive within their school environment.

Key Qualifications:

Valid educator certificate and licensure required Demonstrated experience in school-based counseling and social work Strong background in supporting students who have experienced trauma and/or come from low-income backgrounds Proficiency in behavior management and creating safe, supportive environments Ability to collaborate with staff, families, and outside agencies for comprehensive support Commitment to confidentiality, empathy, and excellence in student care

Responsibilities Include:

Provide individual and group counseling to students referred for emotional, behavioral, or trauma-related concerns Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual needs Partner with teachers and administrators within the B.E.S.T. program to develop student support plans Maintain detailed documentation and monitor student progress Serve as a resource on mental health and trauma-informed practices Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development Foster positive partnerships with families and community resources This full-year assignment runs Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 2027.
