Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed School Social Worker to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key advocate for students' emotional, social, and behavioral well-being. Your expertise in supporting students with needs, specifically those with disabilities, will help identify students' needs, provide targeted support, and collaborate with educators, families, and community resources to promote student success. Responsibilities Conduct formal/informal assessments of students' social, emotional, and behavioral/mental health . Develop and implement IEP goals in the area. Develop and implement FBAs and BIPs. Provide direct and indirect services to students with disabilities. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and external agencies to coordinate support strategies for students. Manage behavioral/mental health crisis situations through effective crisis intervention and crisis management techniques, ensuring immediate safety and ongoing support. Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, Medicaid documentation, and progress reports in accordance with school policies and confidentiality standards. Qualifications Valid NMPED license as a School Social Worker. Expertise in behavioral health interventions, special education processes, and behavioral management strategies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds. Familiarity with social work principles applied within school environments and experience in working with students facing emotional or behavioral challenges. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion while managing multiple priorities effectively.
