Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic opportunity supporting K-12 students as a dedicated professional specializing in social work and recreational therapy! This full-time, onsite contract runs from now through the end of the school year, offering you the chance to positively impact young lives throughout the district. With a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (8:00am-3:30pm), this itinerant role will see you traveling between multiple school sites, fostering connections with a diverse group of students—approximately 35 on your caseload.
Qualifications and Certifications:
Current NM CTRS Certification is required (Further details: ) Background in school-based social work and/or recreational therapy Experience with K-12 students, especially those with ASD, ADHD, or developmental delays Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to adapt activities and interventions to meet individual student needs Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for itinerant travel
Key Responsibilities:
Design and lead group games to help students with autism develop essential social skills Guide students with ADHD in channeling their energy through structured physical activities Create and adapt recreational programs for students with developmental delays focusing on gross motor skills Teach students with disabilities how to access community resources and participate in inclusive recreational activities Provide individualized support for students coping with stress, anxiety, or depression by introducing effective relaxation and coping techniques Make a meaningful difference as you help students thrive both in school and within their communities.
