An exempt position responsible for providing professional therapeutic services to patients and families including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and coordination of community services/resources under supervision. Performance of duties may be autonomous and self-directed as part of an interdisciplinary team.Responsibilities of Position:

Conducts and documents comprehensive, culturally sensitive psychosocial assessments, develops treatment plans, and provides psychotherapy and crisis intervention services to individuals and families under supervision Coordinates services with appropriate clinic and community resources under supervision Provides information and education about health/mental health issues to individual patients and families under supervision Qualifications Master's degree in social work from an accredited school Three years of experience in post-graduate mental health setting and broad background with diverse patient populations, preferably in medical setting preferred Currently licensed to practice social work inNew York State Requirements:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of professional therapeutic principles, methodology, and ethics and of human psychosocial development within the family, community, and culture Knowledge of the use of therapeutic relationship to foster patient involvement Familiarity with brief therapy theories/techniques and therapeutic process Understanding of techniques for facilitating client motivation to change behavior Knowledge of health and social issues impacting diverse clients and their well-beingSkills:
