Urban Upbound Jobs-Plus Social Worker (Clinician)

Background:

Founded in 2004, the mission of Urban Upbound is to provide residents of public housing neighborhoods the tools and resources needed to achieve economic mobility and self-sufficiency, and to break cycles of poverty. Urban Upbound advances its mission through five integrated programs: employment services, financial counseling, youth development/college and career access, the Urban Upbound Federal Credit Union, and community revitalization services. Jobs-Plus is a proven place-based employment program designed to increase the earnings and employment of working age public housing residents. Jobs-Plus uses a three pronged approach which includes: employment-related services; financial incentives that make work pay; and community support for work, the strengthening of social ties among residents and community stakeholders to support residents' job preparation and work efforts.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Clinician will provide clinical counseling and connections to additional treatment as needed for Jobs-Plus members.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing ongoing assessment of member progress in a wide variety of patient care activities, including psychosocial assessments and treatment planning Provide appropriate care or referrals for mental health and wellness needs Maintaining communication with family members and other service providers as needed Making referrals to appropriate services and providing follow-up and complete written documentation to program standards Maintaining regular communication with all relevant staff on member progress and participating in case conferencing with individual participants as needed Ensuring the integrity of data entered in the program database and client case files

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of clinical practice experience preferred and be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), or a licensed psychoanalyst. Must have experience with crisis intervention, client advocacy, and working with victims Ability to create effective working relationships with community partners Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Internet Research, and social media Outcomes-driven, strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform programmatic decisions Highly motivated, with proven capacity to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in social service environment Possess a strong knowledge of potential local resources and supports Excellent communication skills written and verbal Flexible, with availability to work a weeknight and occasional Saturdays Urban Upbound is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates of all backgrounds.
