Role and Responsibilities Collaborate Family Court panel members and the Deputy of Child Welfare to coordinate services for Family Court clients particularly with custody, family offense/Domestic Violence matters and with some child welfare cases. Implement trauma informed care principles into holistic service delivery model Work in conjunction with Director of Social Work to provide holistic trauma informed service delivery to clients. Maintain frequent and consistent communication with supporting documentation with the referring attorney to discuss case progress, client engagement and strategic legal plans. Facilitate referrals to appropriate services to support client compliance with family court and DSS expectations in custody, family, offense/ Domestic Violence, Pre-petition and child welfare cases promoting optimal case outcomes. Assist clients in accessing mental health and substance abuse treatment, housing, transportation and other critical services to prevent Article 10 petitions and support successful outcomes in family court proceedings. Obtain client release forms to access information from service providers on behalf of the client and their attorney Prepare monthly attorney reports, document client progress, maintain best practices, and apply evidence-based practices to promote client empowerment. Network with community agencies and organizations to establish and maintain relationships for collaboration in child welfare matters. Aid clients in the areas of mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, housing, transportation, and any other issue as may arise to successfully effect the disposition of a Family Court matter in favor of the client. Respond to emergency situations/ crisis by conducting rapid risk assessments and developing safety plans to ensure client wellbeing. Complete a comprehensive assessment with the client to identify needs and barriers to court obligations. Enroll clients in social services and necessary public benefits to increase income. Facilitate communication between the client and attorney, Maintain a high caseload of clients to ensure appropriate services and referrals to places, which not only ensure best outcomes for clients, but comply with court expectations. Abide by the NASW Code of Ethics. Maintain weekly case notes and keep track of the number of services performed with clients on a weekly basis through an electronic platform. Perform such other duties as required by the Second Deputy or the Social Work Director Qualifications and Education Requirements The candidate for this position must have a master's degree in social work degree from an accredited university. LMSW will be considered, this is not a setting eligible for clinical hours. If candidate has LMSW- must maintain licensure throughout their time at the Assigned Counsel Program. The candidate must have at least 3-5 years' experience in custody and family offense/Domestic Violence related work. Preferred Skills The candidate for this position must absolutely be a self-starter with an ability to formulate creative solutions to the problems that are endemic in child welfare and other Family Court matters. The candidate for this position must also have an excellent working knowledge of local service agencies, providers, and programs. The candidate must work to seek out such new resources as may become available to best support the client to success. The candidate will work directly and personally with the clientele, including making phone calls on the client's behalf and/or accompanying the client to appointments where necessary. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to working with the indigent. Experience in custody, family offenses, and child welfare matters are greatly preferred. The position requires excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. The candidate must also have excellent communication and writing skills. Bilingual and applicants that speak multiple languages are highly encouraged to apply. Additional Notes This position will be located primarily at the Erie County Family Court building, to provide support for clients and particularly with DV cases. The ACP program seeks a dynamic driven individual who seeks to set the standard for interdisciplinary representation of the indigent in Erie County Family Court.

$61,000.00 - $70,314.00 per year
