NY Summary:
A counselor will be providing therapeutic services directly to students by developing functional goals, tracking student's progress, and communicating with parents. A Social Worker is responsible for but not limited to the following: Provide comprehensive services for students with disabilities Develop and implement screening procedures following rules, regulations, and procedures to identify students who need corrective instruction. Use observation, conferences with staff and various assessment techniques to make evaluations. Plan and deliver treatment for students with deficiencies in individual and small group settings. Provide regular evaluation of students to determine effectiveness of services. Accurately produce all records and reports as required by law and regulation or by school. Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with administration, instructional staff, students and parents with the school and community. Adhere to the New York State rules and regulations, school's policies and procedures and contractual obligations.
