Join our dedicated team as a Peer Support Worker, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals navigating behavioral health and mental health challenges. Duties Offer empathetic peer support to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health crises, utilizing active listening and motivational interviewing techniques. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and identifying community resources. Provide crisis management and intervention during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stability for clients. Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards. Mentor clients through behavioral health challenges, fostering self-efficacy and resilience. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support services tailored to each individual's needs. Educate clients about addiction counseling strategies, mental health management, and available community programs. Requirements Lived experience with mental health challenges or substance use recovery is highly valued; previous peer support experience and certification is a plus. Onboarding is a 2-4 week training prior to beginning. Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and crisis management to effectively de-escalate situations. Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and addiction counseling practices.
