REACH seeks a Community School Director Assistant who will support the Community School Director in the planning, execution, and management of REACH's community school programs. This role involves coordinating activities, managing communications, and assisting with strategic initiatives to enhance educational and community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Support:
- Assist the Community School Director with the development, implementation, and evaluation of community school programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate afterschool programs, workshops, and community events, ensuring alignment with REACH's goals and objectives.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and handle correspondence for the Community School Director.
- Maintain accurate records, including program documentation, student data, and financial reports.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for meetings and updates to stakeholders.
Communication and Outreach:
- Develop and distribute newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials to keep the community informed and engaged.
Student and Family Support:
- Assist in addressing the needs of students and families, providing information and resources as required.
- Support the onboarding and orientation processes for new students and families, ensuring a smooth transition into the community school environment.
Event Coordination:
- Support in organizing REACH's school events, including parent-teacher conferences, community forums, and special activities.
- Coordinate logistics, manage event schedules, and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.

Scheduling Student work schedules are based on the needs of the department and the student's academic schedule. Students should discuss their schedules with the hiring manager/supervisor during the interview process. Hiring managers/supervisors will make every attempt to accommodate students' needs. Work Limitations During the academic year, students may not hold appointments or any combination of appointments totaling more than 27 hours per week (International students may work up to 20 hours). Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought
- Must be a TC student currently enrolled in a degree program and taking at least 5 credits during the fall/spring semesters
- Must be able to abide by Teachers College academic and personnel policies and guidelines, including FERPA, Student Confidentiality Agreement, and the
Student Privacy Requirements Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Administration, or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, families, and staff.
- Commitment to supporting educational enrichment and community engagement.
Salary Range:
$18.00/ hr
