A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.
WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dedicated and compassionate social worker to join our Emergency Response Team in Cornwall. This role involves providing critical support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, substance use challenges, and homelessness. The successful candidate will work closely with first responders to deliver immediate assistance and coordinate ongoing care and resources for affected individuals and families. Responsibilities Respond to emergency calls in the field alongside EMS and a peer advocate. Provide on-site emotional support, crisis de-escalation, and resource navigation. Conduct follow-up calls during downtime to ensure continuity of care. Document all interactions using Foothold EMR (training provided). Collaborate with community partners and refer individuals to appropriate services. Participate in ongoing training and team meetings. Requirements
LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT
licensed in New York State, required. Degree in Master's in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy. Minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or substance use treatment. Personal or lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges (individual or family level). Valid, unrestricted driver's license. Comfortable working in the field, including home visits and alongside first responders. Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills. Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish. Familiarity with Orange County resources and support systems. NYCPS or CRPA certification (or willingness to obtain within the first year). #ITSW1
