POSITION OVERVIEW

The School Social Worker/Counselor will provide services to students in a special education classroom setting, supporting students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, including cognitive delays. Responsibilities include implementing behavior management strategies, modifying curriculum to meet individual student needs, supervising support staff and working collaboratively with the classroom and school team to create a structured, supportive learning environment.

REQUIREMENTS NYS

Teacher Certification, or eligibility for appropriate certification upon hire Minimum 1 year of relevant experience Knowledge of or experience working with students with significant emotional and behavioral disabilities, including cognitive delays Strong behavior management and leadership skills Experience supervising support staff Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) training preferred

PAY PACKAGE

Pay:

$50/hour Taxable hourly wages Weekly, on-time pay
