With 50 innovative programs, FSW serves 30,000 individuals annually in Westchester County, New York, here to create hope, restore dignity and connect families with the resources to get back on track . Founded in 1954, Family Services of Westchester is a private, nonprofit, non-sectarian social services agency. The Social Stars program is an after school specialized respite program for children ages 6 to 11. The program offers structured after-school support, relief for caretakers, and preventive mental health intervention.
JOB SUMMARY
Family Services of Westchester is seeking a Full-Time Team Leader to join our Social Stars Program located in White Plains, NY.RESPONSIBILITES
Schedule, plan, and coordinate engaging social, recreational, educational, and community-based activities for program participants. Lead staff will work directly with the Coordinator of Youth Empowerment Programs to plan daily activities for youth participants. Collaborate with program leadership and other FSW staff to ensure that participants are receiving appropriate and meaningful services and support. Provide leadership and oversight of the program's academic support component, ensuring that youth have dedicated time and appropriate assistance to complete homework, school assignments, and other educational activities. Communicate with youth, families, and program staff regarding academic needs and identify appropriate support and resources when necessary. Help create and maintain a positive, inclusive, strengths-based, and supportive program environment for all participants and staff. Support the intake and enrollment process for new Social Stars participants, including communicating with families, coordinating initial meetings or visits, and ensuring that all required documentation is completed. During the summer months, assist with and co-lead Respite Program activities, including supporting the planning, implementation, supervision, and coordination of summer programming. Work collaboratively with Respite Program leadership and staff during the summer to help ensure participants have safe, engaging, and meaningful experiences. Respond appropriately to program needs, participant concerns, and staff issues, and communicate significant matters to the Coordinator of Youth Empowerment Programs.QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
