Child Welfare Caseworkers play a crucial role in building upon the strengths within a family to help them create or maintain a stable and nurturing home for their children. The caseworker's goal is to safeguard the well-being of children while empowering families. In doing so, the caseworker assesses family situations, intervenes to the extent necessary when child safety is at risk, and collaborates with community resources to strengthen families. Time is spent visiting family and foster homes, collaborating with community providers, gathering information, attending court hearings, completion of assessment tools and case documentation. A bachelor's or master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Child and Family Development, Human Development and Family Studies, or other human services related field is required for this position. The salary may differ based on the candidate's education and relevant work experience.
