Job Summary Domestic Violence Project, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate to provide advocacy and support to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. The advocate will provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, case management, safety planning, referrals, and ongoing support. This position includes meeting survivors at safe locations, conducting outreach throughout Stark County, and collaborating with law enforcement, courts, healthcare providers, and community organizations. Responsibilities Conduct screenings and intakes for newly identified survivors of human trafficking. Ensure coordinated referrals are made to appropriate community organizations and grant partners. Respond to referrals from DVPI programs and community partners. Meet survivors at safe locations to provide early crisis intervention and discuss available options. Educate survivors about safety planning, lethality, the cycle of violence, warning signs of abusive behavior, and the impact of domestic violence on children. Provide comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed case management based on each participant's individual needs. Help survivors address safety, security, healing, financial, vocational, medical, mental health, and substance-use treatment needs. Provide follow-up services and referrals to DVPI programs, healthcare providers, courts, mental health organizations, and other community resources. Connect eligible participants with DVPI services, including emergency shelter, support groups, hotline services, and housing assistance. Serve as a liaison between DVPI, law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and other service providers. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, coalition meetings, outreach activities, and awareness events. Represent DVPI at community and collaborative meetings while advocating for survivors and positive change. Track participant progress and provide follow-up based on established goals and needs. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely case notes in accordance with DVPI and funder requirements. Complete all required training and professional-development activities. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications At least two years of experience providing direct services to survivors of trauma. At least one year of experience working in anti-human trafficking services. Associate degree in social work, criminal justice, human services, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in place of a degree. Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with fewer than six points. Proof of automobile insurance that meets Ohio's minimum financial-responsibility requirements. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care. Working knowledge of laws, court procedures, and policies that affect survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence. Awareness of and empathy for the social, emotional, and personal effects of domestic violence and human trafficking. Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and case-management skills. Ability to remain composed and resourceful in high-pressure situations. Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries. Additional Position Requirements Daily travel throughout Stark County is required. Some outreach activities and awareness events may take place during evenings or weekends. The position requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, operate standard office equipment, climb stairs, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and reach. The employee may occasionally need to climb, squat, push, pull, lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and carry them up to 100 feet. All duties must be performed in accordance with federal and state laws, professional ethical standards, and DVPI policies.
