POSITION OVERVIEW
Our After School Club staff members supervise students in a safe, welcoming environment that combines imaginative free play, story time, and a daily craft. Responsibilities include guiding group activities, supporting positive behavior, assisting with operations program needs, and helping children aged 4-10 years old stay engaged throughout the afternoon. This role offers valuable experience in classroom management and child supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with children from Preschool through 4th Grade. Assist with crafts, activities and enrichment programs. Prepare and distribute daily snacks, organize activity materials, and assist with general program setup and reset. Monitor and actively engage with children during indoor and outdoor playtime. Staff the front desk during peak drop-off and pick-up times to greet families, guide parents, and support smooth student dismissals. Communicate promptly with After School Club staff regarding any conflicts, behavior, or safety issues involving students and/or parents/guardians. Help maintain and ensure a safe, clean, hazard-free, and welcoming environment for all children. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Over 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent (required) First Aid and CPR certified (or willing to obtain certification upon hire). Genuine interest in working with children Previous childcare or teaching experience highly preferred Teaching certificate/ degree a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work comfortably across varied indoor and outdoor environments. Bending, crouching, sprinting, and moving quickly to respond to emergencies, stop unsafe play, or intervene in conflicts. Standing, walking, and moving continuously. You must be able to react quickly to intercept a falling child or prevent unsafe behavior. Light to moderate lifting (occasionally 25 to 40 lbs). High tolerance for noise and the ability to maintain strong spatial awareness in a fast-paced, high-activity environment.
