JOB PURPOSE

The Play & Learn Lead provides daily leadership and direct supervision for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years while supporting high-quality program delivery across Play & Learn operations. This role is responsible for curriculum planning, special event leadership, staff support, and consistent communication with families. The Lead serves as a role model for youth and staff while advancing the YMCA's mission and youth development goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(not a complete list): Provide constant, active supervision of children to ensure safety and well-being at all times Greet children and families and support a positive arrival and departure experience Plan and implement weekly, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities Plan and lead special programs and events, including Parent Night Outs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment and equipment Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians Maintain current knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures Maintains current and accurate knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse. Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff. Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements. Abide by the YMCA's four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility. Required:

Must be 18 years old High school degree or GED. Minimum of six months experience working with children ages 6 weeks-12 years Demonstrated ability to lead activities and manage groups of children safely Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification (will provide upon employment)

Preferred:

Bilingual - English/Spanish. Excellent communication skills Associate's degree, teacher certification or higher
