A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TEEN CENTER MENTOR
As a Teen Center Mentor at our Downtown YMCA location, you are responsible lead participants through programing at your assigned location. You will deliver a variety of specific YMCA programs to the membership and community, ensuring a positive and enriching experience for all participants involved. You ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA. You are careful to act in a safe manner at all times. You are friendly and patient as you lead new participants with motivation. With enthusiasm, you help deliver programs and services that meet community needs by following the directives of the Program Director. You are also conscientious about keeping records up to date and accurate and ensuring compliance with YMCA standards and government regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A TEEN CENTER MENTOR
At least 18 years of age Strong human relation skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Love for our youth Are you a people person who especially enjoys interacting with people? Are you patient and able to remain calm when stressed? Do you enjoy teaching and different events? If so, you might just be perfect for this Teen Center Assistant position!
PART-TIME WORK SCHEDULE
This typical schedule for this part-time position is about 12
  • 25 hours per week. Shifts available 3:00pm
  • 8:00pm and 4:00pm
  • 8:00pm , days of the week can vary based on programming needs.
