A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description

Essential functions:
  • Assess personal, social, medical, and emotional needs of victims of crime and significant others.
  • Provide crisis intervention and administer individual and group therapy services for victims of crime, including sexual assault/abuse.
  • Provide court preparation and accompaniment as needed.
  • Assist in the referral process for those clients whose needs exceed agency clinical guidelines.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participate in conferences, in-services, training, seminars, and team/staff meetings.
  • If appropriately licensed, will provide professional supervision to licensure-eligible CVC employees.
  • Participate in on-call coverage; nights, weekends, and holidays.
On-call is staffed by a team that utilizes a rotational schedule.
Ideal Candidate will possess:
  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred:
Current PA licensure as a therapist, social worker, or professional counselor.
  • Possess certifications in therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to, EMDR, CPT, and TF-CBT.
  • Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice system.
  • Ease in working with complex situations surrounding victimization, including sexual assault/abuse.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation. Required $100,000/$300,000 Insurance Coverage. Schedule
  • Monday thru Friday
  • On Call This position is a full time (35 hours/week) position with full benefits.
Starting rate of pay:
