Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into an essential role making a difference in students' lives as a school-based social worker, serving educational programs designed to support the social-emotional health and academic success of children and teens. This full-time, contract opportunity near Irwin, PA, offers two onsite positions in well-established school settings, both providing the chance to build meaningful connections and contribute expertise to interdisciplinary teams.
Two positions are available:
McMurray Campus:
Support emotional support programs and a partial hospitalization program, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 2027 (dates subject to change).
California Area School District:
Temporary role as a long-term substitute from October 2026 through late January 2027 (specific dates will be determined).
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work or related field required Current Pennsylvania State License to practice as a Social Worker PDE Educational Specialist certification School-based experience is highly valued Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Comfortable working onsite and providing direct support to students
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social-emotional support through individual and group counseling Coordinate mental health and behavioral services within school programs Liaise with families, staff, and community agencies to meet student needs Document assessments, services, and progress in accordance with educational and legal standards Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs, 504 plans, and crisis interventions Enjoy a structured schedule (35 hours/week), opportunities for professional collaboration, and the fulfillment of positively impacting students' lives.
