4.75 hours per day
Hours:
8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Position Summary Jefferson Morgan School District is seeking a dependable, hardworking Cafeteria Worker to join our Food Service team. This position assists with food preparation, serving, cashiering, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining a safe and sanitary cafeteria environment while ensuring compliance with USDA and food safety regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow USDA Child Nutrition Program and food safety regulations. Follow district meal charge policies. Operate the cash register and accurately handle cash transactions. Prepare and stock food items for breakfast and lunch service. Assemble and stock Café Combo Packs. Prepare cookies and fresh fruit for daily meal service. Complete required production records and meal counts. Order supplies and restock food and beverage items as needed. Wash dishes and maintain a clean work area. Clean and sanitize work stations, serving lines, tables, beverage coolers, sinks, and other kitchen areas. Assist with serving meals and replenishing food throughout lunch periods. Restock vending items and maintain inventory as assigned. Maintain organized storage areas using proper food rotation (FIFO). Prepare accurate daily deposits and balance the cash register. Transport supplies and food items throughout the kitchen as needed. Assist with end of day cleaning and closing procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to accurately handle cash and maintain records. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to lift, carry, and move food service supplies as needed. Ability to maintain regular attendance and reliability.
