POSITION GOAL

Buc Buddy Jr is a club/program at the m iddle school level designed to promote inclusion and build one-to-one friendships with peers who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. The goal is to create a school environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and connected.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Club Advisor Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee all Buc Buddy Jr meetings and events. Pair students thoughtfully to support successful friendships. Promote a culture of inclusion and empathy within the school. Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families as needed. Monitor student participation and address any concerns promptly. Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to all club members. Maintain records of participation and club activities.

Student Expectations:

Show kindness, patience, and respect in all interactions. Commit to building a consistent friendship with your assigned buddy. Attend Buc Buddy Jr meetings and planned activities regularly. Encourage inclusion during school events, lunch, and free time. Be a positive role model for acceptance and understanding. Communicate with club advisors if support or guidance is needed.

TIME PERIOD

Approximately 2 weeks during the school year
