At YSB, we work hard to make kids matter every day! We are a non-profit organization that has prevention programs, family services, and residential homes. We are searching for a full time Resource Family Support Professional (RFSP) . The RFSP provides support, assessment, treatment, planning and family counseling to resource families that have a child(ren) placed in their home, with the goal of preserving the child(ren)'s placement, as well as strengthening and maintaining healthy relationships. The RFSP also assists in recruiting foster parents and providing training. Some of the position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

Actively assists in recruiting foster parents and reaches out to groups to specifically talk about older youth in care and the needs, challenges and rewards of fostering older youth in the system. When a parent is thinking about fostering an older youth, the RFSP will hold an orientation session where the RFSP highlights the specific needs of older youth and shows families that it is within their capacity to help a school-age child/older youth. Provides support to assigned resource families with the goal of strengthening and maintaining a healthy family relationship and preserving the child's placement in the home. The frequency of contact and level of services with the resource family will be dependent upon case needs but typically will include weekly contact (individual and family sessions, sessions with caregivers and / or extended family, and teaching/modeling skills). The RFSP remains current with trends and issues affecting older youth within family settings. Provides training sessions and ongoing training opportunities for foster resource parents, specifically around issues that will affect raising older youth. Develops and maintains ongoing professional relationships within the community related to children, youth, and families including, but not limited to Children and Youth Services, school personnel, and treatment providers. Works cooperatively with Children and Youth Services, receiving and sharing updates and information as it pertains to the Resource Parents. Connects families to resources in the community to help meet their needs. Assists with tasks in the Reunification program as assigned, including cross training across both programs. Maintains up-to-date case records, statistics and service plans.

Qualifications:

Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related experience, including experience with parent education.
