Job Description

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate individual to join the YSB team working in the Student Assistance Program (SAP). What is the Student Assistance Program (SAP)? The primary goal of SAP is to help students overcome barriers to learning by mobilizing school and community resources so that they may achieve, advance, and remain in school. SAP is designed to assist in identifying these barriers and uses a team approach to provide support and resources to students and their families.
Job Description:
Work cooperatively with assigned schools, to meet the needs of the youth. Conduct screenings, and make recommendations accordingly Work with Families to share recommendations and follow up with service referrals Complete relevant training and deliver services that would be helpful to students through individual and small group meetings that could occur during our outside of the school day. Job requires highly professional communication skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for students. Job requires high level understanding of SAP process and related school policy, D&A confidentiality policy, and County policy. Hours vary and include time during the school day, as well as time outside of the school day (evenings, summers). Flexibility to meet the needs of fellow team members and students is necessary. Ability to manage flexible time to complete paperwork, phone calls, etc. is necessary. Job requires work to be performed in multiple locations. Position requires regular travel to school buildings throughout Centre County. Job requires ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Requirements:
Job requires at least a Bachelor's level of education, practical experience working with youth, and extensive knowledge of local resources. Proven track record working successfully with youth and community partners at varying levels is necessary.
