Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Child Welfare Case Manager to join our Child Placing Agency team. This position works directly with children and youth in foster care, foster families, DFCS representatives, and other community partners to support placement stability, safety, permanency, and overall well-being. This is a hybrid position that includes a combination of office-based work, remote administrative work, and required field visits. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to foster homes, schools, meetings, and other locations as necessary. Duties/Responsiblities
- Provide ongoing case management services to children and youth placed in agency foster homes.
- Conduct required face-to-face visits with children and foster parents in accordance with agency, DFCS, RBWO, RCCL, and applicable state requirements.
- Develop, update, and maintain Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and other required case documentation within strict established timelines.
- Monitor the safety, well-being, placement stability, educational progress, medical needs, behavioral health needs, and permanency goals of assigned children.
- Maintain regular communication with foster parents, DFCS case managers, service providers, schools, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
- Participate in family team meetings, court-related meetings, case reviews, staffings, and other required meetings.
- Assist foster parents with accessing services and resources needed to support children in placement.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, placement concerns, emergencies, and potential placement disruptions.
- Crisis intervention
- Complete case notes, monthly reports, incident documentation, ISPs, and other required records accurately and within established deadlines.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready electronic and/or physical case records., and monthly auditing.
- Participate in an agency on-call rotation and respond to urgent situations when assigned.
- Follow all agency policies and applicable DFCS, RBWO, RCCL, and state child welfare requirements.
- Perform other case-management duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Child and Family Development, or another qualifying human-services field.
- 'Foundations & E-Learning Trained.
- Previous experience in child welfare, foster care, behavioral health, case management, or family services, experience with a Child Placing agency is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Georgia foster care, DFCS, RBWO, and RCCL requirements is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, documentation, and time-management skills are a must
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to agency policies and supervisory expectations.
- Must be comfortable working with children and foster families who are managing complex behavioral, emotional, and social needs.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings.
