Job Description

Provides day-to-day supervision and logistical support to Housing Advocates, Hotline Advocates, Support Group Advocate, Outreach Advocate, and volunteers. Provides direct client services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in compliance with grant and legal requirements throughout Inyo and Mono Counties. May work from home as program needs allow following introductory period. This is not a mandated reporting position. Reports to DV/SA Programs Manager.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish. High School diploma or equivalency. At least two years of experience in management and/or supervision. At least one year of experience delivering direct client services or doing customer service. Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Willing to work a flexible schedule that can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, or overnight travel. Ability to use a computer; proficiency with Office 365 and willing to learn industry specific software. Must abide by laws and grant regulations regarding employment practices, confidentiality, ethics, and Wild Iris policies. Respectful and effective communication, writing, and presentation skills; ability to train others to perform job duties. Ability to learn complex tasks and processes, manage multiple deadlines, delegate work, and organize a team to complete objectives. Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and committed to high-quality service delivery. Ability to work with minimal supervision in both individual and team settings. Ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with crisis and stress situations. Knowledge of professional office practices including proper conduct and dress.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field or equivalent professional social service experience. Two years of experience with a similar agency performing similar or transferable duties. Completed Wild Iris training or approved equivalent and be eligible for certification as a Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor pursuant to California Evidence Code Sections §1035.2

Essential Job Duties:

Complete Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor certification pursuant to California Evidence Code Sections §1035.2

  • §1037.8; participate in ongoing training to maintain certification. This training is provided by Wild Iris. Assist with training staff and volunteers pursuant to California Evidence Code Sections §1035.2

8. Assist with providing and monitoring continuing education for staff and volunteers. Provide day-to-day supervision to direct reports, participate in staff and volunteer recruitment, give input on personnel decisions. Coordinate scheduling of direct service staff and volunteers. Available to work after-hours shifts on 24-hour crisis line and respond in person to law enforcement and hospitals. Track program budget in conjunction with DV/SA Programs Manager; monitor expenditures by program staff. Serve as back up for the DVSA Programs Manager in their absence. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the agency including representing the agency in a professional manner and maintaining the highest standard of integrity and confidentiality. Coordinate and provide direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; provide backup support as needed. Coordinate mandated reporting of child, dependent adult, and elder abuse or neglect per California Penal Code Section 11165.7. Coordinate maintenance of the Transitional Housing campus and security of TH residents. Coordinate and provide culturally sensitive services and work with representatives of under-served communities in our service area. Coordinate agency multidisciplinary team meetings, maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, provide professional training. Coordinate provision of support groups, youth violence prevention programming, community outreach events, and educational events and presentations. Assist with the maintenance of accurate client records, documentation, data collection, reports and forms as required by grants and Agency policy in collaboration with the DV/SA Programs Manager. Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the agency including representing the agency in a professional manner and maintaining the highest standard of confidentiality. Attend meetings and provide supervision as needed in offices in Inyo and Mono Counties. Perform other duties as assigned.
