Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using clinical documentation standards and medical terminology to determine patient needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral health interventions. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health, substance use disorders, PTSD care, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and geriatrics. Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support patients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral emergencies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts, ensuring seamless patient care across medical records, EMR/EHR systems, and HIPAA compliance policies. Document all clinical activities meticulously in accordance with medical documentation standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Collect data for clinical research initiatives related to mental health interventions and behavioral health outcomes to support continuous quality improvement. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, and behavioral therapy with diverse populations. Strong knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and evidence-based practices such as applied behavior analysis. Expertise in child & family counseling, special education, autism spectrum disorders, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Familiarity with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records), ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical records management. Ability to perform psychiatric patient care assessments within hospital or community settings; experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or trauma-related conditions like PTSD is highly desirable. Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention strategies, and working effectively under pressure during urgent situations. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, patient assessment, and collaboration with healthcare teams from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health interventions, psychopharmacology, geriatrics, Alzheimer's care, and special education environments.
