POSITION SUMMARY
Providing home-based services to families who have come to the attention of Child Welfare System. Families are eligible who are experiencing challenges with parenting, meeting basic needs, or accessing services within their communities that will be addressed with supportive, home based, family preservation services to support the safety and wellbeing of families. MiFamily Together is designed to assist families through strengths-based, solution-focused/motivational interviewing intervention techniques and support services that are tailored to each individual family's needs and goals. MiFamily Together seeks to prevent maltreatment and prevent unnecessary placement of children into the Foster Care System. MiFamily Together is designed to address family needs at any risk level through meaningful engagement and flexible services for each family. MiFamily together programs use the "2Gen" model. This model recognizes whole family units

MiFamily relies on the FAST (Family Advocacy and Support Tool) to guide the services to meet each family's unique strengths and needs. The FAST will also be used to guide the number of Face-to-face hours of family sessions each week per each family's needs. MiFamily relies on the use of Motivational Interviewing to support families toward increasing Protective Factors and goal achievement. MiFamily teams teach and model life-skills, household management, parenting skills, relationship building, and community resource navigation. MiFamily will continue to support families in safety planning, Domestic Violence, Infant Plan of Safe Care, Early On, etc. MiFamily will continue to have specific assistance to support families to support goal achievement/increase safety. MiFamily program can be provided to a family for up to 6 months, however some families may fully benefit from the program in less than 6 months and close out of services in less than 6 months. The Home-Based Family Preservation worker will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Requires a bachelor's degree in any human services field or education.
Preferred:
Experience working with children and families providing home-based services; knowledgeable of crisis intervention techniques, Motivational Interviewing Techniques, cultural humility, demonstrated knowledge and skills related to family systems, and knowledge of family treatment strategies using a strength-based perspective and trauma informed lens.
