What they do
A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Active Illinois LSW or LCSW credential issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) preferred
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience (school-based and/or tele-social work preferred)
- Experience conducting social developmental studies, facilitating IEP goals, and crisis intervention
- Strong clinical communication, organizational, and case-management skills
- Comfortable using telepractice platforms, digital documentation systems, and remote meeting tools Key Responsibilities Assessment & Direct Intervention
- Deliver direct virtual individual and small-group social-emotional counseling aligned with IEP and 504 goals
- Conduct social developmental studies, adaptive behavior assessments, and functional behavioral assessments (FBAs)
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support students' emotional regulation, coping mechanisms, and social skills
- Monitor student progress toward social-emotional milestones using objective data to guide service delivery Collaboration & School Support
- Collaborate closely with general and special education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and families
- Provide consultation and behavioral strategies for classroom management and social-emotional learning (SEL) integration
- Participate actively in virtual IEP meetings, domain meetings, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and manifestation determinations Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation of clinical notes, service logs, and IEP goal progress
- Ensure all clinical services, assessments, and records strictly comply with ISBE regulations, district policies, and
IDEA/FERPA
guidelines- Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, behavioral plans, and state-mandated compliance paperwork Technology & Telepractice Tools
- Utilize secure virtual platforms, interactive counseling activities, and digital SEL curricula to deliver engaging remote sessions
- Adapt therapeutic resources and visual tools for an effective online learning environment
- Guide onsite school facilitators and families with platform navigation and session coordination Advocacy & Community Resources
- Connect students and families with community-based social services, mental health resources, and crisis support networks
- Foster student self-advocacy, conflict resolution skills, and emotional wellness within the school community Benefits & Compensation

Estimated Pay Range:
