Job Description

Make a positive impact by supporting the growth and well-being of an exceptional learner in a middle school setting. We're seeking a dedicated professional with experience in school-based and healthcare social work to provide individualized support for a student with severe autism and high needs. This contract role offers a full-time schedule and the flexibility of working one day per week remotely, making it ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a balanced workweek.
Key Qualifications:
Valid licensure as a social worker Previous experience in schools or healthcare social work settings Proven ability to support students with autism, preferably with high-needs or severe cases Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families Experience guiding or mentoring educational assistants is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
Offer 1:1 support and direct intervention to a middle school student with severe autism Develop and implement individualized strategies to help the student succeed emotionally, socially, and academically Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and other specialists to ensure a cohesive support plan Provide guidance, training, and ongoing mentorship to an assigned Educational Assistant working with the student Document progress and maintain comprehensive records as required Communicate regularly with parents and families, offering resources and recommendations to foster further development
