Five years of successful middle school ELA teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of ELA program requirements as evidenced by advanced degree, course work, training, and/or professional experience.
Any exceptions to the above as may be acceptable to the Superintendent
Experience and expertise in program development, data collection and analysis, program evaluation and reporting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and technology use..
Coordinate the delivery and analysis of common unit assessmentCollaborate with school and district leaders, and ELA teachers to Identify areas of program improvement and support/monitor progress of improvement areas.
Facilitate and support team professional learning.
Participate in
Perform other related work as required by the Principal.
JOB GOAL
The ELA Coordinator works with school and district administration, and teachers in the ELA Department to ensure students have access to rigorous and relevant coursework and instructional materials, aligned to state standards, to successfully prepare them for advanced learning at the high school.QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Rhode Island certification as a middle school ELA teacher.Five years of successful middle school ELA teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of ELA program requirements as evidenced by advanced degree, course work, training, and/or professional experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience as a teacher leader (i.e., coach, mentor, serving on SIT, etc).Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, industry and community partners, students and families.Experience and expertise in program development, data collection and analysis, program evaluation and reporting.

Participate in
RIDE ELA
leadership meetings and in the curriculum selection and implementation process.. Serve as a member of the school leadership team.Perform other related work as required by the Principal.
