9652713-29631 Job Description Make a difference supporting students well-being as a full-time Mental Health Therapist in an educational setting. In this contract opportunity, youll work closely with students who present aggressive behaviors, elopement tendencies, and are often triggered by sounds or loud music as a result of PTSD. Your expertise in managing complex behaviors and providing trauma-sensitive care will help students feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed in school.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

Previous experience in a school setting as a Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor. Ability to recognize, de-escalate, and support students experiencing triggers. Strong understanding of PTSD and behavioral challenges in children and adolescents. CPI certification is highly preferred. Calm, gentle approach and a strong commitment to trauma-informed practices. Comfort collaborating with educators, families, and other mental health professionals. Professional licensure or relevant credentials appropriate for school-based mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individual and group support to students facing acute behavioral and emotional challenges. Respond promptly and effectively to triggers and aggressive behaviors in a way that prioritizes safety and dignity. Educate and consult with school staff regarding trauma-informed practices and strategies for student support. Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to each students unique needs. Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and student progress. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students can thrive.
