Position Description:

The Office of Lifespan Health (OLH) is part of the Division of Child and Family Services within the Department of Health. The OLH encompasses programs related to a wide variety of services across the state including; family planning, prenatal and parenting education and support, infant safe sleep, adolescent health, and improving access to health care services. This intern position will assist the team with the following projects:

  • Reviewing and developing educational materials for partners and/or the public.
  • Research to support policy updates, quality improvement projects, and trainings for staff that provide direct services to clients.
  • Assisting staff to gather information for the development of state and federal grant reports.
Qualifications:

Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program. All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
