SELF SUFFICIENCY COORDINATOR BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
Will develop, implement, and coordinate Family Self Sufficiency programs for use by public housing residents. Will network with community agencies to provide job training, education, counseling and related support services, develop job opportunities, and will assist with grant writing. Assesses and documents resident employment/training needs and interests. Conducts life planning skills training classes, refers participants to appropriate resources for job training, education, support services and homebuyer training. Provides case management services to participants. Maintains all related records, prepares reports, and attends meetings as required. Prepares required HUD reports and performs typing and clerical functions. Participates on special boards or advisory councils and assists with special community projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Education Psychology, Sociology, or related field) with three years experience in the delivery of services in a social service agency; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Background experience in real estate and mortgage industry a plus. Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License. If selected, must pass a post-offer physical examination that includes drug screening by our designated physician. Must be a resident of Madison County within six months of employment.

Knowledge of DHS Welfare to Work Programs, community resources, an understanding of individual and group behavior, and the ability to establish meaningful relationships with clients on an individual and group basis.
