PROJECT SUMMARY
The Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility (TAEM) is a collaboration of Middle Tennessee non-profits and agencies who work together to ensure families become more and more economically self-sufficient by achieving outcomes in education, employment, income, and stability. The upcoming pilot, funded by a one-year TDHS contract, provides additional support to 200 families who will be rolling over from an expiring four-year contract that was designed to help families increase stability, advance economically, and move past benefit cliffs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Family-Centered Coach works directly with participants in a collaborative process to help identify and achieve children, caregiver, and family goals. Using Family-Centered Coaching, the Coach strives to serve the whole family, keeping the participants in the driver's seat, and centering families as the experts on their own strengths and perceived challenges ahead. The Family-Centered Coach serves as a member of the Family Success Network (FSN) team using a collaborative, team-based service model. While employees have a primary program assignment, all Family Success Network staff share responsibility for providing excellent customer service, direct support, and resource coordination to families throughout the organization. Staff are expected to work across programs and departments to ensure families receive comprehensive, coordinated, and responsive services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Leads families through coaching, helping build support that surrounds each family and guides them towards their self-identified goals. Connects families with needed and available community resources including but not limited to TAEM's partners and referral partners. Connects families with the Education and Employment Manager to provide support for education and employment goals. Provides holistic and comprehensive services to caregivers including intake assessments, goal setting, long-term action plan development, progress monitoring (including ASSM and appropriate assessments), advocacy and referrals. Meets with participants on a scheduled, monthly basis[GU1] , and is available in emergency situations. Maintains up to 40 enrolled families at a given time. Inputs family participation, progress, and assessments in TAEM's data system, Salesforce; uses data to make informed decisions and improve family interactions and supports. Support organization-wide family engagement events, outreach efforts, workshops, and other activities that advance the mission of serving families holistically.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in fields of Human or Social Services, Education, or related field Two or more years of experience working with families and young children. Non-profit experience preferred. Training in trauma-informed care, family-centered coaching, and ACES preferred. The above qualifications express the minimum standards of education and/or experience for this position. Other combinations of education and experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may be taken into consideration.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Passion for working with caregivers and families. Knowledge of human services needs and methods of delivery. Strong interpersonal skills; excellent customer service skills. High level of detail and accuracy. Exercises good and consistently fair judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the staff and public in giving and obtaining information. Computer literate including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, desk top publishing software, email and the internet.
Special Demands:
The special demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Limited regional travel within Middle Tennessee (up to 10%).
