Job Description

  • Non Exempt Reports to: Household Assistance Program (HAP) Coordinator Salary is determined per the ADFAC Salary Progression Plan subject to negotiation dependent on experience and education.
The Social Workers are primarily responsible for providing assessment, counseling, and referrals for clients, maintaining up to date records, and supporting other staff and volunteers in a variety of duties.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
    Experience:
    3-5 years in social work or related field.
      Education:
      Bachelor's degree in Social Work, MSW or LCSW preferred.
      • Excellent time management skills.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft software products.
      • A strong sense of discretion, confidentiality and an ethic of service.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, volunteers, staff, donors, and the community.
      Primary Responsibilities:
      Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing case management, supportive counseling, and referrals for clients in the Household Assistance Program (HAP). Ensure all services are delivered in a professional, ethical, and trauma-informed manner. Manage all funding sources available for direct client assistance. Determine and designate appropriate funds for rent, utilities, and other eligible expenses in accordance with program guidelines and client eligibility. Represent the agency in community settings to strengthen partnerships, enhance awareness of services, and support collaborative initiatives. Engage with churches, social service agencies, housing providers, utility companies, and other community stakeholders to expand access to resources for clients. Support the recruitment, orientation, and recognition of volunteers to ensure effective program operations and client support. Complete all required documentation and data entry accurately and within established timelines. Maintain compliance with agency policies, program standards, and grant requirements. Assist with administrative and operational tasks, including updating funding resources, processing payments, preparing reports, and providing coverage for the Program Coordinator as needed. Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall mission and effectiveness of the agency. Provide ongoing assessment, counseling, and referrals of HAP clients in a professional and supportive manner.
