The SEL Coordinator will develop and lead age-appropriate discussions, activities, and group experiences designed to help students develop C onfidence, Communication, and Compassion for Others, the 3 C's that guide the CMNTY experience. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys working with children and youth, is comfortable leading groups, and can create meaningful conversations and learning experiences within an active, sports-focused environment. Responsibilities Lead engaging SEL discussions, activities, and group experiences with students. Develop age-appropriate SEL topics, discussion prompts, and activities for elementary and middle-school students. Facilitate small-group and whole-group conversations focused on: Confidence and self-esteem Communication Respect and empathy Teamwork Leadership Emotional awareness Conflict resolution Sportsmanship Responsibility and accountability Connect SEL lessons to sports, movement, teamwork, and everyday student experiences. Encourage students to express themselves, listen to others, and communicate respectfully. Help students reflect on their behavior, choices, challenges, and interactions with peers. Develop and implement SEL programming that supports the overall goals and values of CMNTY Academy. Collaborate with Academy staff to reinforce SEL concepts throughout the afternoon. Provide guidance and resources to staff on incorporating SEL practices into daily student interactions. Support a positive, inclusive, and respectful Academy environment. Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Identify and communicate significant student behavioral or social concerns to Academy leadership. Assist with student leadership opportunities, special activities, and community-building experiences. Evaluate SEL activities and make recommendations for continued program improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling, child development, youth development, or a related field. Experience working with children or adolescents. Experience facilitating groups, discussions, or youth-development programming. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate SEL programming. Ability to engage students in meaningful discussions and activities. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Academy leadership and staff. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or graduate-level coursework in a related field. Experience in a school, after-school, youth-development, counseling, or educational setting. Experience developing SEL curriculum or programming. Experience working with elementary and middle-school students. Experience in sports, coaching, recreation, or other youth-centered programming. Experience providing staff training or professional development.
