06/26/2024 PRIMARY PURPOSE Assist Kids Club staff with supervising children in grades Pre-K through 5 in the after-school program, ensuring each child is well cared for and safe.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

High school student or home-schooled high school student residing within the boundaries of DSISD At least 15 years of age

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents Ability to work positively with groups of children Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Effective organizational and communication skills Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, compassion, and patience

Experience:

Some experience working with children preferred

Requirement:

Ability to work Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. while school is in session

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Assist with supervision of students and conduct age-appropriate activities for children in care. Ensure the safety and security of children in the building and during transitions to and from outdoor play areas. Other Maintain confidentiality. Participate in staff development, meetings, and special events as assigned. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Standard classroom and office equipment; playground equipment; personal computer and printer.

Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to sun, heat, cold, inclement weather, and noise.
