Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Social Worker Supervisor manages the performance of all DHR campus Social Workers. Assists with the management of discharge planning from the beginning of the admission through to transition to next level of care. Coordinate all Social Worker DHR campus staff on work schedules and operations of the department. Responds to the daily operations of the departments; maintains a staffing plan that meets organizational needs. Works with Director with the hiring, firing, orientation, training and evaluation according to established guidelines.POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS
: Master's degree in social work with case work and supervisory experience preferred Must be licensed by the state of Texas for Master social work. Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Good written and verbal communication skills required. Some evening or weekend work will be required Bilingual - English/Spanish.JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
:- Five (5) years' experience, two (2) of those years in supervisory positions.
- Knowledgeable in case management principles, discharge planning, social worker procedures and practices.
- Knowledgeable in crisis intervention principles and practices.
- Good personal relations skills
- Demonstrates competent computer skills, including use of assigned word processing Program
- Ability to present ideas effectively, in both oral and / or written form.
- Ability to conduct detailed analytical evaluations and studies and prepare related reports and recommendations.
- Skill in establishing a balanced perspective on mission effectiveness and business results is critical.
- Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
- Maintain professional relationships with organizations, county personnel, families and service providers.
- Assist in the hiring and evaluation of all Social Workers.
- Assist in identifying training needs for the Resource Management program. Coordinate training for staff.
- Help Resource Managers develop mediation and intervention strategies and implement them to resolve conflicts.
- Act as liaison between Resource Management staff and Board.
- Other duties as assigned.
