Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Child Nutrition Worker, where you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, balanced meals to children in an educational setting. This energetic position involves preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring that every child receives quality care and attention during mealtimes. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive dining experience that supports students' health and well-being.

This job schedule is from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday-Friday. The job is a 10 month position, functioning with the school calendar (August-May), but paid equally across 12 months so no checks are missed during the summer months outside of school.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards

Assist with food handling, portioning, and presentation to ensure appealing and healthy servings

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sanitizing surfaces and proper disposal of waste

Support students during mealtimes, encouraging good manners and fostering a welcoming atmosphere

Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination or accidents

Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages

Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth meal service operations during busy periods

Qualifications

Prior experience in food service, catering, or the food industry is highly desirable

Background in child nutrition programs is a plus

Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with children, staff, and visitors

Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures is preferred

Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is beneficial

Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to health regulations

Demonstrated teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards supporting colleagues and students
