Full Job Description Position Summary :
The Eligibility & Referral Coordinator will obtain financial and family information used in determining the patient's ability to pay at the MCH-Family Health Center. Will work closely with Texas Department of Health COPH to determine patient's eligibility in the program. Will be responsible for generating and reporting data required by the COPH program. The Eligibility & Referral Coordinator will maintain a professional relationship with patients, acting as a guide, advocate or "critical friend" and assist primary care providers to build community linkages.
Qualifications :
A.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. B.
Training and Experience:
Aptitude to organize, file and perform clerical work with speed and accuracy. Typing and basic computer skills; good telephone etiquette. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions :
Must be able to work under stressful conditions. May have varied working hours. Must be able to sustain long periods of sitting, standing and/or walking. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases.
